Media Projects and Partners

AfroShoot (www.afroshoot.com) is a platform with the mission to celebrate and communicate to the mainstream an Afrikan vision of the world through the lens. To pioneer social justice and equality, all eyes on the future must be equal.

Why are the narratives of Afrika so often not originated from Afrikan minds.

Why are the world views of this continent so little understood.

Currently Afroshoot is growing, with so many new photographers coming on board, and events coming up.

Welkin Earth are providing support and we are partnered to promote the vision,

widen the reach and make things happen.

Wild Law

The Documentary

Here is a fundraising promo for Wild Law the Documentary from 2014 for a little taster on whats to come...

Since 2013 WE have been helping Chrysalis Formations to produce a documentary about how the law could change to protect and enforce the regeneration of the environment more effectively than it is doing. Featuring information on Wild Law, Rights for Nature, and Ecocide. See more here: https://wildlawdoc.wordpress.com/

Summary:

At a time of growing ecological unpredictability this film highlights why in the current system as it stands it is essential that we grant rights for nature, as corporations have been given, and how this might work for the benefit of people and planet. There has been so much depletion and destruction of fragile ecosystems, biodiversity, and people who are suffering often without direct and swift means to transform the decline. Court cases being battled for 20 years to point out the seeming obvious is not a luxury afforded in all cases, and the mere fact that where legal cases are won in favour of the afflicted often the remuneration and ruling does not re-establish the natural balance that existed prior to a given harmful action.

The film thus examines the proposition that Ecocide should be accepted as the 5th International Crime Against Peace and what criminalising destruction to the natural world would mean in the corporate world. Leading professionals including Michael Mansfield QC, lawyers Cormac Cullinan and Polly Higgins, scientists Fred Pearce and Charles Eisenstein, speak out for the crucial necessity of change in the law to allow protection of the ecological systems of the planet.

A collaboration between an independent film-making entity Chrysalis Formations and London South Bank University with support from Welkin Earth. WE have helped to co-draft the project, lent our production skills, and been there for technical and general support. It is now at post-production stage, and having hit many unpredictable bumps in the road it will near completion in the not too distant future....
