PAST WORKS
WE have been existing as a support service for changemaking organisations and individuals striving for both people and planet.
Over past years we have supported in a variety of ways. Below is a map which links to just some of the work we’ve collaborated on or created...
Work by Welkin Earth has included awareness raising events in aid of homeless migrants displaced by war living in Europe, alongside resource and supply of thousands of health and basic care items to them.
In 2009 using funds from Welkin Earth members WE put on 2 events in one weekend for hundreds of people with 50 music artists and acts, several workshop providers, a cafe/ cinema and a bunch of volunteers in aid of migrants displaced by war living in Calais, France.
WE managed to raise the funds for 2000+ emergency care items and delivered them to migrants camped out in the winter cold of France 2010- we took hundreds of blankets, shoes, vitamins, hot water bottles, natural health care items.
At that time organised services like the French Red Cross and Medicin Sans Frontiers were barred from helping the refugees; the French, European and UK authorities had a strict regime of immigration control. It was reported that many of the migrants sleeping rough were children, and that many of the displaced adults had assisted UK forces in places like Afghanistan as translators and healthcare workers and as such they had to flee their homes for their lives.
WE tried to at least provide some extra warmth and nutrition short term to let them know eyes were watching and people care but of course it could never be enough.
WE spent time talking with a man who had seen is entire family slain in front of his eyes during the Darfur genocide (which like most conflicts was funded by international parties). For someone with such a hopeless situation ahead of him he was extremely gracious and a very gentle soul. He deserved help, they all did, and still do.

WE provided research and resource assistance to a non profit organisation working with key parties in the Gambia towards a project roll out for ecological infrastructural growth.
This also included support work to network key parties, development of Gambian groups to facilitate ecotourism and production for events to help raise communication and participation.
WE provided assistance for meetings with Ministers of Government, officials of key sectors such as the Tourism board, and leaders in relevant fields from across the Gambia.
WE helped facilitate the first mixing events for beekeeping and agricultural professionals to protect the forest and provide much needed income for the people.
WE helped to network and communicate with influencers in the fields of eco-tourism, tourism, agriculture, and the arts; key sectors for the Gambia
WE worked there during the Ebola crisis and witnessed the impact it had on the economy and so well being of the people. The Gambian people were so kind, gentle and welcoming WE almost didn't want to go home!

NGO project and research support 2014-2015
Welkin Earth supplied research services for a natural healthcare response to the Ebola crisis which was passed through government officials and submitted to the president of Sierra Leone and government. WE discovered documents related to the possible efficacy of a readily available natural remedy which had been used with effect against Ebola. This and several other findings were written into a document and an effort to support was mounted with several other organisations.
WE also acted as support host for meetings and events with Government Ministers and other officials at the Sierra Leone embassy, London, UK with a follow on event at the Southbank Centre.

Biosphera Dharma engaged the work of Welkin Earth in London for a project based in Uganda. They were working between Europe and Uganda to promote ecological human settlements, protection of ecosystems, preservation of ancestral wisdom, and the installation of low impact infrastructural technologies.
WE helped to hosting meetings for Royalty and Ugandan Government officials. WE supported the process of project planning, with consultancy, research design, work hub set up and editorial and development for project plans. WE also provided executive admin services and acted as secretary of meetings.

WE supported a series of large music events in aid of the San Bushmen. Indigenous to Botswana they had been displaced from their origin land, where their ancestors had lived much the same for 6000+ years, due to diamond mining and the economic power this had over Botswana's authorities. The events were held by Kalahari parties in partnership with Survival International.
Separately WE created an online information site and email campaign to make people aware of the problems facing the San Bushmen.

2008
In 2008 WE supported a campaign to raise funds for the charity Railway Children (http://www.railwaychildren.org.uk/) who seek to aid vulnerable homeless children.
WE networked widely, posted hundreds of links online, emailed thousands of people, printed and distributed hundreds of awareness raising materials.
Their work at that time largely centered on runaway children in India who end up extremely vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation on India's railway lines. Although their work has now extended to Africa and the UK.

WE are based in the UK and have worked countrywide with different community, social justice and environmental organisations on numerous projects. WE could tell stories and post pictures but much of what we have done deserves some discretion, or requires proper explanation, so contact us for further information about our work.
WE have been producing community events, research, and varied supportive services including grassroots advocacy for the past decade. Some of our works have featured in Time Out and BBC news homepage.
WE have provided development support for organisations with a focus on humanitarian issues, ecology, radical law change, natural health and environmental innovation among other subjects. WE have worked with charities, campaign and activist networks, community interest companies, community projects, charitable companies, venues, event production companies and volunteer organisations.
WE have largely worked in the background of projects when providing services to allow the vision of organisations to remain autonomous but giving support to make the work happen.
From month to month and year to year WE might be providing project planning, campaign design, research support, graphic design, event production and other services.
WE have produced our own awareness raising events and well being spaces in music events. WE have supported the drafting process of documentaries in environmental law and human rights. WE have provided writing and editorial support to campaigns based in Ecocide, Wild Law, indigenous rights, grassroots empowerment, economic justice issues, building community spaces for ecological advancement and more.
Research projects included subjects ranging from weapons and warfare, industrial pollution, clean tech, radioactive contamination and complementary approaches to health. W.E seeks out remedy where it may exist and condenses information to submit to parties who are actively engaged in progressing solutions towards the same end.
